We are in the grips of a revolution -  a digital revolution.

Three years ago, never would I have imagined you could have restaurant-quality food from the comfort of your own sofa at 3am; order a taxi at the click of a button whenever and wherever you need one; or get your shopping delivered straight to your door in under an hour.

And even further from my thoughts was that I’d be able to get my digital friend ‘Alexa’ to do it all for me.

A Budget for Housing?

A rather jovial chancellor stood at the despatch box this week to deliver his second budget of the year. I am not sure about his jokes about cough sweets and Jeremy Clarkson, when we are dealing with something as important as our countries future they seem rather irrelevant. On the other hand, maybe it shows a human touch behind the scripted words.

Top tips for cooking on a budget
  • Plan Ahead! Planning meals before you go shopping avoids impulse purchases
  • Love your leftovers! Can you re use them? Freeze them? Eat them for lunch the next day?
  • Using a slow cooker is a great way to have a hot meal on the table when you walk through the door and you can use cheaper cuts of meat
  • Check your fridge freezer and cupboards so you're not buying things you already have
  • Check use by dates and eat items that are due to run out first reducing waste
