Salix Homes named among top 50 landlords in the UK

Salix Homes has been named amongst the top 50 landlords in the UK for the second year running.

We’ve been recognised in the prestigious 24 Housing Top 50 Landlords 2019 roll of honour, which recognises the brightest and best social landlords from across the UK, who are delivering significant change both within their organisation and communities and in the wider housing sector.

Salix Homes is the only housing provider in the Greater Manchester region to make the list after impressing judges with our innovation and commitment to doing things differently in a bid to create thriving communities where people can be proud to live and work.

In the past year we’ve led the way on building safety, as one of only three housing associations in the country to be part of the Government’s Early Adopters programme which aims to raise the bar on building safety within the housing sector following the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

We’ve also launched our new Alexander Gardens scheme – the region’s first housing development exclusively for NHS workers to help Salford Royal recruit medical staff who are hampered by the lack of affordable housing.

Judges were also impressed with our efforts to bring empty buildings back into use to create much-needed affordable housing.

Lee Sugden, chief executive at Salix Homes, said: “To be named amongst the top 50 landlords for the second-year running is a real honour, of which we are immensely proud.

“Our vision is to create thriving communities where people can be proud to live; harness the power of innovation to provide a truly digital housing service, and be a leading voice in tackling the housing crisis.

“The past year has been a monumental one – we’re tackling the housing crisis, creating new homes, transforming lives and leading the way on building safety, so to be recognised for our efforts is testament to the hard work of all our colleagues and customers who make us what we are.”
