Ordsall is situated to the south of the A57 road and close to the River Irwell, the main boundary with the city of Manchester. It is bound to the south by Salford Quays and the Manchester Ship Canal.

Langworthy borders with Salford quays and Media City, where there are a wealth of leisure and shopping facilities.

Islington is in the heart of the Chapel Street regeneration area, and close to The University of Salford.

Ordsall and Islington

Shopping, leisure and community

There are many shops and services within walking distance or a short drive away for residents who live in Ordsall, including Regent Road Retail Park and Morrisons on Phoebe Street.

Community services include Ordsall Community Café Project Ltd, a community-led enterprise which is opposite Ordsall Allotments. Ordsall Neighbourhood Office, Library and Ordsall Community Arts are located on Robert Hall Street, M5 3LT.

The Islington estate is located off the Chapel Street gateway on the doorstep to Manchester City Centre and within walking distance to its many amenities. Islington benefits for being at the heart of a proposed £650 million regeneration of the Salford Central area, which will include thousands of new homes, retail units and office, bringing a wave of new jobs to the city. Work has already started with an award winning facelift of Chapel Street to give greater priority to public transport and pedestrians.

Transport

There are excellent connections to Manchester Town Centre and Salford Quays. You can plan your bus, train, or tram journey with help from Transport for Greater Manchester.

Green space

Ordsall has two public parks; Ordsall Park and Regent Square Play Area.

In Islington there several public parks; Buile HillChimney Pot Park, Islington Park, and Peel Park right on the doorstep.
