Springboard Heroes 2022

Meet the finalists

During 2022, Salix Homes awarded grants totalling £32,927 to groups and projects across Salford that are making a difference in our communities.

Our Springboard community grant programme has provided much-needed cash injections to local projects that boost community spirit, promote health and wellbeing, reduce isolation and improve the environment.

We selected four outstanding finalists from the groups that received Springboard community funding in the past year, all of which provide huge benefits for the people of Salford.

Members of the public voted Manchester City Mission’s Family Food Fayre as their winner who received a £1,000 bonus grant for their project.

Our other worthy finalists each also received a bonus £100 grant from the Springboard fund.

The project was launched in 2021 by Amber McCormack, also known as the ‘Bee Lady’, who wanted to create more opportunities for people to access nature, learn about the importance of bees, and help tackle the isolation that can come from urban living.
