Salford Manbassadors

Mental wellbeing is an important issue for all genders, yet there’s a particular stigma surrounding mental health amongst men.

While many men do take care of their mental health and seek support when needed, others find it difficult, or don’t know where to look for help.

We’re in this together

Greater Manchester Manbassadors is a project supported by Salix Homes, dedicated to raising local awareness of the mental health challenges faced by men. The project can help men access the services and support they need in simple, but effective ways.

We’ll be launching and building a network of local organisations across Salford that act as men’s health advocates – ‘ Salford Manbassadors’ – to engage with and support the men they meet.

Manbassador sites will provide a safe space for men to discuss their wellbeing through confidential, person-centred conversations. Manbassadors will guide men towards appropriate support at the earliest opportunity, helping prevent a crisis before it can escalate.
