Weaste and Seedley are situated to the south west of the Central Salford area and are close to Eccles.

The Beechfarm or Poets Estate, as it is often referred to, is on the far West of Salford and is a leafy suburban neighbourhood that is part of Swinton.

Claremont is part of Central Salford and is a mainly residential area benefiting from many local parks and amenities.

Shopping, leisure and community

The historic market town of Eccles has lots of shops and Salford Shopping City, also known as The Precinct, is close by. There is also a long row of shops along Bolton Road in an area referred to as Irlam O’ th’ Height. There are a number of community facilities including:

Transport

Eccles town centre, Salford Royal, Buile Hill Park and Pendleton Precinct can all be accessed via Eccles Old Road, a main road which runs east to west through Seedley and Weaste, before connecting up with Broad Street (A6) which runs past the University of Salford and on towards Manchester City Centre.

Green space

The city’s flagship park Buile Hill Park is situated within the area. There are also two public parks – Lightoaks and Oakwood. More information on the parks in the area.

The Beechfarm Estate is within walking distance of Swinton Centre, with many shops and restaurants as well as Salford Civic Centre. Beechfarm Residents Association Resource House is located on Kingsley Road in the heart of the estate and hosts local tenant and resident association meetings, a gardening club and other activities. 

In addition Swinton and Pendlebury Leisure Centre features many activities including swimming.

Transport

Green space

The Beechfarm Estate is home to Moorside Park which hosts large playing fields as well as cricket and 5-a-side football facilities. Margaret’s Community Garden, on the Beechfarm estate is a small oasis of calm and is maintained by local tenants with picnic benches, a rockery and herb garden.
