Salix Homes ‘decks the halls’ in time for Christmas

Salix Homes has been spreading Christmas cheer at our sheltered accommodation complexes across Salford.

We’ve provided Christmas treats and festive decorations in the communal rooms at Heraldic Court, Queen Alexandra Close and Rialto Gardens, which provide accommodation for older people.

Our neighbourhood teams joined forces with residents to hang fairy lights, decorate Christmas trees and enjoy some tasty festive treats.

The Hive – our state-of-the-art accommodation centre for young people – has also received the Christmas treatment and been decked out ready for the festive season.

Mick Walsh, neighbourhood manager for Duchy, Kersal and Charlestown, said: “It was great to see neighbours come together over festive activities. They really embodied the spirit of Christmas and helped add a spot of cheer to the communal areas.”

The provision of decorations and food was made possible thanks to our Springboard fund, which supports local groups and initiatives that boost community spirit, improve the environment, reduce isolation and promote health and wellbeing.

Since launching Springboard earlier this year, we’ve donated around £30,000 to local causes.
