Salix Homes helps charity provide baby essentials
A Salford based charity has received a £1,000 funding boost from our Springboard Community Fund to help families facing financial hardship.
The funding has been awarded to Visit from the Stork, a vital charity that has been supporting families across Greater Manchester since 2014.
The grant went directly towards the charity’s Stork Support project, which provides vouchers for families to buy essential items including nappies, wipes and baby formula.
Visit from the Stork works with both parents and children, offering a wide range of services designed to give families the support they need. These include a baby bank providing childcare essentials, stay and play sessions, a family holiday club, infant feeding support and employment skills courses for parents who have been out of work for a long time.
The charity believes that supporting parents is just as important as supporting children. Its project aims to help families access the same opportunities for child development and wellbeing, whatever their circumstances.
Claire Carey Co-Interim CEO at Visit from the Stork says: “The charity’s aim is to give every child the best possible start in life, whatever their family’s circumstances. By providing practical help alongside emotional and social support, it helps families build confidence and create a brighter future.
“Receiving funding from the Springboard Community Fund has allowed us to continue providing baby essentials to the families most in need in Salford and it is very much appreciated, thank you Salix Homes.”
Warren Carlon, Director of Communities at Salix Homes added: “The Springboard Community Fund is our way of supporting vital services that benefit our communities. Through Stork Support, families experiencing financial difficulties can access essential items that many parents struggle to afford. The funding will help ensure more families can receive vouchers for everyday essentials when they need them most.”
