Salix Homes retains grading from Regulator of Social Housing

Salix Homes is pleased to announce we have retained our grading from the Regulator of Social Housing.

The Government body, which regulates the social housing sector, has recently completed its annual stability check of our governance arrangements and financial viability in line with its regulatory framework.

Once again, we have been awarded the G1 rating for governance – the highest rating – and a V2 for financial viability. The Regulator also reconfirmed our C1 (consumer) grading, in recognition of the homes and services we provide for our customers, based on our full regulatory inspection last year.

The judgement means Salix Homes is fully compliant with the regulatory framework, and we continue to be well-managed, financially stable, and able to deliver high-quality homes and services to our customers.

Last year, we were amongst the first housing associations to be inspected as part of the Government’s new standards and inspection programme introduced to help drive improvements in the quality of housing and services, becoming one of the first in the country to be awarded the highest possible C1 grading.

Liam Turner, Chief Executive at Salix Homes, said: “This is a really positive outcome to have retained our gradings from the Regulator of Social Housing, particularly at a time when the social housing sector, the economy, and the communities we serve continue to face significant challenges.

“These independent assessments from the Regulator provide reassurance to our customers, colleagues and stakeholders that Salix Homes remains well-governed, financially robust, and continues to deliver the safe, high-quality homes and services that our customers deserve.

“This positive regulatory judgement is testament to the dedication and hard work of our workforce, Board, and Customer Committee. We don’t rest on our laurels at Salix Homes, and we remain committed to continuous improvement and will keep listening to and learning from our customers to provide a housing service in Salford we’re all proud to be part of.”
