We offer a range of groups including the Scrutiny Pool, Complaints Oversight Group, Apartment Living Forum, and a brand new Youth Panel coming soon for younger customers.

Do you need extra support to evacuate your building in an emergency?
From April 2026, all high-rise buildings must have Residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (RPEEPs) as part of new fire safety legislation helping to keep you safe.
What is an RPEEP?
A personal plan for anyone who may need extra support to evacuate their building safely in an emergency as lifts cannot be used during a fire.
Who does this apply to?
Anyone who may find it harder to evacuate, including people with:
• Mobility issues
• Long-term health conditions or mental health needs
• Hearing or sight loss
• Medication that affects alertness or movement
• Alcohol or substance dependency
• Later stages of pregnancy
• Anything else that could affect how you respond in an emergency
You don’t have to wait
We’ll be contacting all customers who live in high-rise buildings to ask a few questions and discuss any support needed and make sure any information we hold is up to date.
We’ll also ask you to sign an Evacuation Statement to share with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, so they know how best to support you in an emergency. And we will check in with you every year to see if your circumstances have changed.
But you don’t have to wait to hear from us.
If you think you may need extra support to evacuate your building safely in an emergency, please get in touch today. We’re here to help make sure you have the right plan in place to keep you safe.

ICS survey reminder
At Salix Homes, our customers are very important to us, and we want to keep it that way. We’re proud to be part of the Institute of Customer Service (ICS), which helps improve customer service standards. To maintain our high rating, we’ve been going through an ICS assessment where we’ve been asking for feedback from our employees and customers about our services.
As part of this assessment, over 100 customers have already completed a survey with someone in the Salix Homes Contact Centre.
We are still making calls so if you receive one from us, we really appreciate you sharing your thoughts about our services. The survey will take about 5-10 minutes, and your feedback is very important. It helps us know what we’re doing well and where we can improve. You can also complete it later if you’d like. You’ll see our official number, 0800 218 2000, on your phone when we call, so be reassured, it is Salix Homes calling.
Thank you for taking the time to share your opinions about Salix Homes. If you have any questions about the survey, feel free to call us at 0800 218 2000.
Moving to Universal Credit
If you’re working age and currently receiving legacy benefits, it’s important to know that you’ll need to switch to Universal Credit (UC) soon. Keep an eye out for a ‘Migration Notice’ letter from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) – this will let you know when to make the move.
Remember, you won’t be switched automatically, so make sure you apply for UC before the deadline to continue receiving support.
If you have any questions or need help with your Universal Credit application, don’t hesitate to reach out at 0800 218 2000 or contact our Income Management team on salix.incomemanagement@salixhomes.co.uk
If you have already migrated to Universal Credit but are receiving less money than expected, please contact us as we may be able to help.
Ask for ID
For your safety and peace of mind, always ask for ID before letting anyone into your home.
If you’re ever unsure whether someone is from Salix Homes, please don’t hesitate to check.
You can call us on 0800 218 2000 and we’ll quickly confirm if they’re a member of our team.
New contractor
We are now using Citrus to carry out our electrical testing on all of our properties.
Please remember to ask for ID before letting anyone into your home, and if you’re ever unsure if we have sent them, you can give us a call on 0800 218 2000 to check.
Reminder: Household Support Fund
You can now apply for round seven (part two) of the Household Support Fund, until Tuesday 31 March 2026.
Salford residents who need financial support with the cost-of-living, specifically to cover cost for food, fuel and energy, regardless of benefit status can apply.
Residents who need support can apply directly for funding on Salford’s Household Support Fund web page or call Salford’s Household Support Fund helpline on 0800 011 3998.
Reminder: Report damp and mould
If you have concerns about damp, mould and condensation in your home and the effect it could be having on the health and well-being of you and your family, then please let us know right away.
Report it to us on MySalix or by calling 0800 218 2000.
