Multi Skilled Electrician

We’re looking for two Multi Skilled Electricians to join our internal maintenance service team, working in our customer homes and communal areas across the city of Salford, and Greater Manchester. Working pattern Monday-Thursday 8:00am – 4:15pm, and Fridays 8:00am- 3:30pm.

About the role

You will be an experienced Electrician qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent with 18 Edition and be able to repair/replace electrical fittings and diagnose and rectify electrical faults, rewire properties first and second fix, whilst adhering to the current edition of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and complete relevant certification to BS: 7671 to include EICR, Minor Works and Installation certificates.

The successful candidate will also be required to work on out-of-hours call out rota which is paid in addition to the basic salary. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a full clean driving licence, be used to working alone and be used to recording work on a PDA/tablet.

Previous knowledge of working in social housing homes would be beneficial but not essential. Equally important is the experience to be able to mentor and nurture future electrical talent, supporting our internal trade apprenticeship programme to enable succession planning and continuity of delivering a quality repairs service to our customers at Salix Homes.
