Rain didn’t stop the fun at Ordsall Park!
Families came together for an action packed afternoon as we marked Salford’s centenary year with our family fun day at Ordsall Park on 15 April. Despite a few April showers, spirits stayed high with games, activities and plenty of smiles all round.
From penalty shoot outs and coconut shy’s to sunflower planting, face painting and free ice cream, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Sport also took centre stage with a friendly five a side football match between Salix Homes colleagues and MacIntyre in Greater Manchester.

We’ve also uploaded a photo album with all of the pictures – you can find it on our Facebook page!
Important update: Changes to AllPay payments
From 10 May, you will no longer be able to make payments using the AllPay mobile app or website.
If you’d like to continue paying online from 11 May, you’ll need to switch to one of the options below:
• Use MySalix to make a payment
• Visit the new AllPayments website
• Download the new AllPay app from the Google Play or Apple App Store
We recommend setting up one of these options before 11 May to make sure your payments continue without interruption.
If you need any support, please email salix.incomemanagement@salixhomes.co.uk. We’re here to help.
Celebrating Salford at 100!
To celebrate Salford’s special milestone of turning 100, Art with Heart brought the community together through a fantastic podcast, exhibition, and pop-up events – highlighting the voices and creativity of Salford artists and residents.
We’re especially proud that our own Lorraine Giddings, Director of Customer Experience, featured in her very own episode of the Salford Voices podcast!

An inspiring story back into work
When Fama Jallow joined Salix Homes last September on a six month work placement, she wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
After spending 10 years out of employment raising her family, relocating to Salford from Belgium, and completing a law degree with The Open University, taking that first step back into work felt daunting. But with determination, courage and support, Fama embraced the opportunity to rebuild her confidence and begin the next chapter of her career.
Fama is one of the brilliant success stories to come out of the Salford Futures programme from Salford City Council.

Reminder: Do you need extra support to evacuate your building in an emergency?
As of this month (April 2026), all high-rise buildings must have Residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (RPEEPs) as part of new fire safety legislation helping to keep you safe.
What is an RPEEP?
A personal plan for anyone who may need extra support to evacuate their building safely in an emergency as lifts cannot be used during a fire.
Who does this apply to?
Anyone who may find it harder to evacuate, including people with:
• Mobility issues
• Long-term health conditions or mental health needs
• Hearing or sight loss
• Medication that affects alertness or movement
• Alcohol or substance dependency
• Later stages of pregnancy
• Anything else that could affect how you respond in an emergency
You don’t have to wait
We’ll be contacting all customers who live in high-rise buildings to ask a few questions and discuss any support needed and make sure any information we hold is up to date.
We’ll also ask you to sign an Evacuation Statement to share with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, so they know how best to support you in an emergency. And we will check in with you every year to see if your circumstances have changed.
But you don’t have to wait to hear from us.
If you think you may need extra support to evacuate your building safely in an emergency, please get in touch today. We’re here to help make sure you have the right plan in place to keep you safe.
