Salix Homes celebrates National Apprentice Week

We are celebrating National Apprentice Week, which runs from March 3-7, with an Apprentice Open Day for young people to find out more about the opportunities on offer.

The open day takes place on Friday, March 14 and will focus on opportunities available in Salix Homes’ 1st Response and Environmental Maintenance Teams.

Sue Sutton, our director of customer and neighbourhood services, said: The housing industry provides a fantastic opportunity for apprentices to learn and develop new skills and we work alongside our partner contractors to offer a wide range of opportunities across all areas of the organisation.

Apprentices represent a bright future for the housing industry and we are committed to creating local jobs and opportunities for local people, so I’d urge people to come along and find out what we’ve got to offer.

National Apprenticeship Week is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

Last year Salix Homes hosted its first ever Apprentice Awards to recognise the talents, skills and commitment of its local apprentices who have secured training and employment opportunities through the scheme.

The open day takes place from 12pm to 5pm at Salix Homes’ head offices at Diamond House, 2 Peel Cross Road, Salford.
