Salix Homes appoints new chair of board

Salix Homes has appointed a new chair of its board.

We’veannounced Grainne Heselwood as our new chair. Grainne, who will take up the post on March 23 takes over the reins from outgoing chair Peter Styche, who is stepping down after almost eight years at the helm.

Peter said: “Having led Salix Homes to a position where it is ready to become fully independent, now is the right time to hand over to my successor. With Grainne at the helm, it has a great future.”

Grainne, from Chester, has more than 20 years experience working in the social housing sector and is the managing director of Training Solutions and Innovations (TSI) – an organisation which helps social landlords make sustainable and substantial improvements.

Grainne said: “I am delighted to have been appointed Chair of the Board at Salix Homes and I’m excited about joining such a forward-thinking organisation at such a pivotal moment in its history. I have a wealth of experience working in the social housing sector and have advised on more than 60 stock transfers, so I’m looking forward to bringing my knowledge and expertise to the organisation.”

Lee Sugden, chief executive at Salix Homes, added: “This is a very exciting time in the history of Salix Homes and we are thrilled to appoint Grainne as the new chair of our board.

“She shares our vision to help communities in Salford live, grow and thrive together and is committed to our ambition to giving customers a real say in how we do things.

“Grainne’s experience and knowledge will be a real asset to Salix Homes as we begin the next stage in our journey after the transfer and we are confident that she will help us deliver a bright and sustainable future for social housing in Salford.

“I’d also like to thank our outgoing chair Peter Styche for all his hard work and commitment over the years and wish him the very best for the future.”
