Pink Picnic receives support from the Springboard Community Fund

For 14 years, Salford’s Pink Picnic has brought the LGBTQ+ community together to celebrate inclusion and equality.

This year, a £2,000 grant from our Springboard Community Fund helped support the event, which took place on June 21 at Peel Park.

Salford Pride organises the popular Pink Picnic, an annual LGBTQ+ festival, and Salix Homes is proud to be one of the founding partners, first helping to launch the event back in 2011.  We were out and about at this year’s event to take some snaps and enjoy the festivities for the festival’s 14th year running.

Salford Pride and the Pink Picnic’s mission is to work to build a stronger, diverse community that celebrates inclusion and equality; where LGBTQ+ people are represented, thrive and live their lives authentically.

Salix Homes’ Director of Communities, Warren Carlon, said: “Salix Homes has a long history in supporting the Pink Picnic, helping to launch the very first event with Salford Pride. We’re very proud to be able to continue to support a wonderful celebration that promotes and raises awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

“Our Springboard Community Fund offers much needed funding to grass-roots projects like the Pink Picnic. It’s our way of supporting local projects and organisations that benefit the wellbeing of our communities.”

Chair of the Board at Salford Pride, Marcus Taylor adds: “Salford Pride are incredibly grateful to Salix Homes for their generous support in helping financially support The Pink Picnic 2025. Their contribution played a key role in ensuring the event was not only possible, but truly successful.

“Thanks to their backing, we were able to create a safe, inclusive, and vibrant space where our local LGBTQ+ community could come together, celebrate, and feel empowered. Salix Homes’ commitment to community and equality shines through, and we’re proud to have partnered with them to make this important day such a memorable occasion.”
