How we are regulated

As a Registered Provider (RP) of social housing we are regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH).

The RSH sets out their expectations of all providers in the Regulatory Standards. Every year, we assess our activities to make sure that we are meeting these standards.

Following review for the year ending 31 March 2026, the Board were satisfied that Salix Homes met all of the required standards.

In August 2024, following our Regulatory Inspection, the RSH confirmed that Salix Homes had retained its gradings for Governance (G) and Financial Viability (V). In addition, it was also confirmed that we have achieved the top grading for our compliance against the updated Consumer Standards (C). Following the annual stability check in December 2025, the Regulator re-confirmed our regulatory gradings of G1, V2 and C1.

Salix Homes has adopted the NHF Code of Governance 2020. Each year, the Board check compliance against the Code. For the year ending 31 March 2026, the Board found that Salix Homes was fully compliant with the Code.

For additional reassurance, an independent review of our governance arrangements was carried out during 2025. This review found that there were no areas of non-compliance with either the Governance Standards or the Code of Governance.

Openness and transparency

We are committed to being open and transparent in all that we do. Throughout our website, and in all of the information we share, we try to be as clear, open and transparent as possible – signposting to specific documents, publications and services or external partners, where appropriate.

Salix Homes follows the requirements of the Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements Scheme (STAIRS) – and we proactively publish information our organisation, our people, performance, service and activities.

If the information you are looking for is not available in what we already publish, you can ask for it through our access to information procedure.

Current registered tenants and their designated representatives can ask for information relating to the management of social housing. We will consider all requests on a case-by-case basis. In line with GDPR requirements, if you would like to see the personal information or data we hold about you, you can request this through our Subject Access Request (SAR) procedure (Link TBC).

The Board and all of our colleagues follow the NHF Code of Conduct 2022.  Everyone is expected to declare any conflicts or interests in line with our policies. All declarations of interest are reported to the Board and are held on our Public Register, which is available to view on request by emailing governance@salixhomes.co.uk
