Our commitment to diversity runs through everything we do – and that all starts with our Board and Committees.

Salix Homes Board

Comprised of a number of talented leaders from various backgrounds, the Board is proudly diverse.

  • 58% are male and 42% are female
  • 17% have informed us that they have a disability
  • 25% have an ethnicity other than White British
  • 17% have a sexuality other than heterosexual or straight
  • 42% are under 40 years of age, whilst 17% are aged 60 or over.

Our colleagues

Based on the declarations made at 1 April 2022, our workforce demographic was as follows:

  • 58% are male and 42% are female
  • 11% have informed us that they have a disability
  • 7% have an ethnicity other than White British
  • 47% have declared as Christian whilst 44% have cited no religion
  • 10% have a sexuality other than heterosexual or straight
  • 28% are under 35 years of age, whilst 21% are aged 55 or over.

There are a number of colleagues who have yet to share their diversity information with us and we continue to work with our Inclusion Group to progress this.

Our customers

Based on the information our customers have shared with us, on 1 April 22 their diversity is as follows:

  • 56% are female 44% are male
  • 12% have informed us that they have a disability
  • 38% have an ethnicity other than White British
  • Most of our customers are over the age of 50: 22% aged 50 to 59, 31% aged 60 plus.

We have plans in place to increase the data we hold for our customers, this improved insight will support us to continue to make better informed decisions on the services we provide.
